bye bye cheese and bread (whaaaa....) - posted by neenie

Hey Family,

So I've been neglecting the blog and paying for it. Europe was an amazing adventure. Melissa and I made our way through France and Spain to end in Amsterdam. We also made it through some culinary delectables as we went. People in France are gorgeous and slim and slight. But they live off cheese and bread. I don't really get it, but when in France, right? So while there I indulged in ample locally-famous dishes, most rich with butter, cheese, wheat and the like. Crepes, ham and cheese baguettes, croissants, fondue, wine, champagne, beer, goat cheese, ice cream, chocolate, pasta, pizza, creme brule, and the list goes on and on.... I ate the opposite of the way that I've been eating generally here in Canada for the last 7 years. When in Rome, I guess... But my taste buds truly loved every ounce of what was consumed. They live well in Europe and the food was decadent. But my hips and energy level have paid the price for my indulgence. I managed to gain some weight while I was in Europe despite the 10 to 20 km walked each day. Just goes to show that my body is pretty intolerant of dairy and wheat and meat and booze. I just don't process it well. I even managed to drink a lot of coffee while away, which is not at all good for me. Sadly, Team A, I'm close to where I started. I'm 138lbs. But I'm not in the least disheartened. I'm cleansing and eating raw foods again and could not feel more optimistic about it. I have a goal in mind but it's going to take me remaining raw for quite a while and beyond. The good thing is that I really love eating raw foods and feel amazing. I really need to feel amazing right now as coming off a trip and back into the milk toast is a little jarring. I'm going to need plenty of projects to keep busy and focused on feeling good and healing.

YESTERDAY FOOD: fruit salad (banana, nectarine, green and red grapes), banana, raisins, avocado with lemon and cumin, smoothie (banana, mango, blueberry, ground flax seed), big bowl of very lightly steamed broccoli with lemon, water.

I'm happy to see that everyone has made progress and is continuing to fight the good battle. It's my hope that we all continue on to support one another. I know that I have been neglecting the blogging and supporting part and I'm planning to remedy that now that things are getting back to normal.

Congrats, everyone!

love,
neenie
