You all rock!!!! (By Jess)

Yesh, ya dad, JUST DO IT! HAHA Oh you! Well pa, I am super duper excited about your enthusiasm, and your keen ability to acknowledge and conquer this issue of getting healthy. I really enjoyed your "advice" from various sources. I especially can appreciate that we have choices, and our reality today is based on our choices from yesterday. Good on you....and I really think this male support group is great for you! Keep us posted on how it goes. And as for your health...no one can ignore the risks fat puts on our health.

Neen, as I said tonight, I am so happy for you to have found a great place, great price, great roomie, and great (and close by to me) location! I am envious of the wood floors! haha I will miss having you as a roomie, but as we discussed, we will see eachother often! Probably moreso than we do now living together! :)

Ok, so I did SO well all day for not eating bad crap foods and portion sizes were adequate. What was bad was I walked 15 mins in the rain (with only a little t-shirt on, no jacket and no umbrella) and I stopped in a convenience store and grabbed a box of Kraft dinner! EEK! I was cold, wet, miserable, tired, and knew I was out of options for food at home (I had everything for a great salad but the dressing and they are not open ever on weekends when I am not at work). I ate half the box, and Neen shared. I don't know about you Neen, but I feel awful and guilty! So I had my crummy weather, done-work comfy food, and regret it! I have decided some serious thought must be put into grocery shopping, and that planning out meals can be beneficial indeed. If I had the dressing already in the fridge, I would have gladely ate that stupid salad. Anyhow, all I think I need to do is when Matt moves in, him and I can really plan and organize our meals, and I can be confident that I don't need to get a fix. haha

I dont follow diets, BUT, if there were any elements to a diet that I could relate to or benefit from, it would be the Low Glycemic Diet. I def have an issue with sugar cravings. That is my weakness. This diet tries to balance and manage our insulin and blood sugar levels...you know, kinda like diabetics who are therapeutic with managing their diets alone (not requiring insulin shots). The sugar high, as I mentioned before, puts us on a dangerous rollercoaster....a quick "high", then our blood sugar levels crash because good ol insulin has come to balance it out but will get carried away and drop it so low, that we get desperate for more sugar and are super irritable until we get that "fix". It is truly a simple concept. So, balance is key. Instead of a whole chocolate bar, I consume a wee bit of chocolate occasionally. Everyone has their areas they need to focus on for health and weight loss or maintenance. Mine is sugar. Dang, ain't I sweet enough?!?!?!?! HEHE

Wellllllll, I have loved reading everyones stories...keep em coming! And dad, get that mom of mine on here! In terms of this blog, our team spirit STINKS! LOL :P

Love you all!
Jess
