Ham, Team B

It's yet again a gorgeous day outside. And I do believe we will need to find a day to have the whole clan up for a pool party. It's time to celebrate the oodles of positive thought that are embracing everyone. But you know, negative thoughts are ok, as long as you know how to overcome them. Afterall we are still human.

If I find that I am getting down on myself, I have learned to bring it to my level of consciousness and assess what it is. Invariably there is nothing that is too difficult to address and positive thoughts quickly sweep through my thoughts. Mind games really can work in a good way!

Here are some more of Harvey's thoughts.

1. Do regular exercise-now that means a routine, which seems to be impossible for me but I will find it

2. If you're eating in a restaurant, tell them how you want your meal prepared-you're in charge;

3. Always be in control (there's that mind game thing again). Never allow hunger to overcome your ability to make a rational food decision. We have had two young and attractive female riders from B.C. staying with us and with that junk food has been available, but I have not had one of the potato chips. Now that's will power! Imagine they can eat this stuff and stay fit, absolutely amazing.

4. Don't go shopping on an empty stomach and avoid the processed food-sounds like the Team B challenge, eh Jessie (yes I do read this stuff)

5. We need to change our behaviour in order to achieve permanent change. That means choosing a way of life with proper eating habits (it can't simply be a diet). It would be a shame to lose the weight, claim success and proceed to the old ways leading to weight gain. We owe ourselves and each other more than a temporary fix. I'm happy to carry on the blogger as long as we want to do it. I don't think we need deadlines.

So to all of you at various levels of our everyday roller coaster ride of emotions, keep smiling and I'm signing off for a few days while I'm out west.

Remember, even if you're not gaining that is an accomplishment!

Ham
