Believe and it will happen! (By Jess)

To all you lovely people...
This blog has definitely turned out to be an incredible support group for us all, and really nice to reconnect. I think at family gatherings, things can get so hectic, and this just makes for a nice opportunity to really 'listen' to what you are all feeling, thinking, and what is going on in your daily lives. I think this is precious....but of course, seeing eachother and visiting is still number 1!
As I mentioned, Matt and I are heading out this weekend camping (at mom and dads right now and leaving soon). I do love the city very much, but I must say, I feel OVER stimulated! Just when Matt and I were pulling out of my place, there were of course all the traffic and streetcars rumbling around us, and vibrating the ground, I actually had to plug my ears for a second because I feel so sensitive to noise. I am so excited to be away from lights and noise, and just tune into nature again. Matt and I are excited to spend this quality time together, and plan on doing a lot of hiking and playing frisbee, badminton etc together. The only challenge I see if the eating. I have plans to eat salads and fruit/veggies, but I know I will have some not-so-good-for-me Licks Nature burgers (but with ww buns) and snacks. I am really going to try to not let this camping trip be a huge distraction from the changes I am trying to enforce in my life nutritionally. I plan on drinking loads of water to stay hydrated while under the sun and being active. Though I say this, I am fine with giving myself a break from time to time and having something to eat that is not the best for me, but this just has to be limited. Eat well majority of the time, and poorly minority of the time, if much at all. Anyhow, looking forward to this camping trip, and trying to eat as well as possible while getting lots of exercise. Maybe I will do like my gay work friend Romeo did in Algonquin last year....each morning, right in the new sunshine of the day, he did yoga! He cracks me up, but I think it gave him a decent start to his day, better than that of coffee perhaps!
Dad, I am SO proud of you that you are really dedicated and motivated to this weight loss! Your method now is far better for you than stupid Bernstein who doesn't really teach you anyhow how to maintain your lifestyle in a healthy way. Keep at it! :) Hope you hit the water every morning for some laps since it is at your disposal! I am looking up to you now! ;)
Everyone else, keep up the amazing work! Man, this family rocks and blows my mind! We are so united! :) Keep on making yourselves proud....cause I am already so proud of everyone for taking on this difficult mission - but a mission that CAN be done when you put your mind to it! THINK POSITIVE ALWAYS! BELIEVE!
Love you all buttloads!
Jess
