FROM OMI!
Hi Jessy!I am home from a wonderful Birthday celebration
with my choirfriends in Hamilton.
My computer is "busting" with messages!ha,ha!
I like to let everyone know about my lifes dieting>
When I was in my early 50 I went for weigthwatcher and
at the same time to joga classes. Was great, because lost
2o # and felt fantastik.10 years later I was alone and living in
Hamilton.Went rigth away to the swimmingpool, across
the street.that was a great
inspiration.I would swimm three times a week 40 length.
I also started almost every morning walking for 2 hours
with my good friend Dorothee, for some years. She had a heart
condition and was all her life heavy smoker.she stopped for a while, but
started again and had to have open heart
surgery.I was so sad whenI heard that she dit'n make it.
I became layse, kept the swimming until I fell and broke my wrist, and
later dislocated my shoulder, and than came the
breast cancer. All in all I stoped moving my body.ganed
weigth. It is much harder to loose, but I will try with all of my dear
family in mind.I eat very censible.I think itis
very importend to eat a good breakfast.Mine is first a
gass orangejuice with barly green.wich has all the vitamins.a bowl of
oatmeal with walnuts, flaxseed(grinded )and a half
banane.or prunes, almonds blueberrys or rasberrys.A cup of coffee .At
noon I would have 1 slice of rybread or
sunflourseed bread with cottagecheese,or tuna or egg or tomatoes.I
should forget the butter!!!!In the evening I have a
smale patatoe,a salad or beans or carotts,Love fried patatos in
oliveoil and onion and a
scrambled egg.I finish my meal with a yoghurt.Between
the meals I would have an apple,or honeymandarin.I also eat regulary
three figs a day and take vitamins.
Now it cames,I know my problem is ,I should get of my bum more often
and make the round about the Heidehof.O yes
I go twice a week to the exercise, with weigth on our hand and ancles,t
h a t is very good,but not easy.We wll go for
exercise in the pool us soon they are finished with the renovation. It's
sunny,I will take my walker to make my rounds.Tonigth is
Bingo!!,Please forward this letter to everybody.I wish us all
good luck!Love to all Your Omi,
I eat not much meat, like sometimes a peace of cheese.
I will try to eat lots of raw vegtables, like Neenes advice.I dont know
how long can I do that.Celery and carotts I
like.What else???Omi
From Jess: Omi, take into consideration your age difference too
though please....don't do anything drastic because you really
need to get proper nutrients. Veggies/fruits- try a sliced up tomato,
red/green/orange peppers, asparagus, a mixed green salad with balsamic/extra virgin
olive oil, or avocado...bananas, raspberries, cherries, strawberries etc.
I would go light on cheese and meat though. Fill your plate with veggies
and to get your protein, have a small meat portion (though you don't need
meat for this)....or try tofu, eat walnuts, and if yogurt, I noticed that
though Activia has probiotics in it, it is high high high in sugar and
a bunch of bad stuff (made from cream), whereas Silhouette or Source are
better options. Other thoughts later, I cant think cause I am tired from night shift.
MUAH!
