Monday we begin (posted by Birgie)

As we approach this wonderful challenge, I would like to say that from past attempts and triumphs at reducing my dress size, the 7 key positive tools were. I have recently lost 10 lbs. in 12 weeks on another program. Could have done better if I'd been more true to myself.

Now ready for the next leg of of the loss without paying lots of money.

Spend the money on rewards instead.

1. 8 glasses 0f water- I prefer bottles of crystal lite all set in the fridge, different flavours and colours. When I'm hungry I grab a bottle and drink without fear of snacking. Good computer snack, have a washroom handy.

2. Journalling your personal daily consumption, that really makes you realize how much you do eat. Be true to yourself in the entries, you're only cheating yourself if not.

3. Smaller portions without complete elimination of some of your past favourite snacks. Instead of the whole kit kat bar only 1 strip, freeze the other 3.

4. Bicycling, walking or any form of exercise will help.

5. Read the labels on food for calories, fat etc. before you even buy them.

6. Lots of green vegetables and fruit.

7. Reward yourself with a weekly job well done in the form of anything but food related. A new cd, book, hairdo, clothes , art supplies, craft supplies, dvd, whatever.
